Let's take a quick breather together.
I've got some simple tips that might help make your day easier.
Want to unwind for a moment?
Hello parents! 👋
This is Lucy.
You've probably played the classic "story building" game before, taking turns adding one sentence at a time to create a story together.
This week, I tried a little twist on that game with my child, and it was such a hit that I had to share it with you! 😊
🧩 The basic idea is simple
Take turns saying one sentence to build a story
But this time, we added a fun twist: "Remember the story we just read!"
📖 Why we started this game
My child (6 years old) absolutely loves when I read books aloud. But sometimes, I notice they're more focused on the pictures than the story itself. Of course, looking at pictures is a wonderful part of reading, but I also wanted to gently encourage them to understand and remember the story more deeply.
That's how we came up with this game: "Story Recall & Rebuild"

🎲 How to play
Read a book together as usual
Then take turns recalling what happened, one sentence at a time
It doesn't have to be perfect! 👉 A little creativity makes it even more fun
💡 Parent Tip: What to watch for
Which scenes does your child remember?
Which words or ideas do they focus on?
Are they grasping the sequence and logic of the story?
This game becomes a gentle way to observe your child's comprehension, memory, and expression without any pressure.
🥰 Why we loved it
🎉 Kids enjoy it as a game
👂 Parents get a glimpse into how their child processes stories
📚 It's a lovely mix of reading, creativity, bonding, and learning, all in one!
📌 Try it this weekend All you need is:
👉 A storybook
👉 A cozy moment together
👉 And a willingness to build something new, one sentence at a time
That's all it takes to create your own special story.
It's a joyful, meaningful way to make reading time even more memorable 💕
I’d love to hear your story.
Until next time
With heart
